Sherdog: UFC to Compete with Affliction on July 19?

Sherdog.com is reporting that a UFC event for July 19 is in the works. According to the report, the event would be broadcast live on Spike TV, and be in direct competition for viewers with Affliction’s inaugural PPV event, Banned.

If the report proves accurate, it will be interesting to see the line-up UFC matchmakers are able to put together, as well as just what impact it will have – if any, on Affliction’s ppv buy-rate.

While no matches have been confirmed, the report names Wanderlei Silva and Brandon Vera as having been approached to compete in the event.
