Monson Off Adrenaline MMA Card
In an unfortunate turn of events for the young promotion, Adrenaline MMA has lost what little star power it had for its inaugural card this weekend. Jeff Monson was forced to withdraw from his main event bout against Pride and Yarennoka veteran Mike Russow, citing a broken hand. Stepping in to replace him is Jason Guida, brother of UFC fighter and WEC crowd-shadowboxer, Clay “The Carpenter” Guida.
Despite a card filled with sold talent, the event is now lacking any significant ‘names’, perhaps save for UFC veteran Terry Martin, and IFL vet Bart Palaszerwski. It should be noted however, that the presence of Monson alone does not make for a particularly anticipated fight card, with either casual or die-hard fans, so his absence may not impact the event’s ticket sales. The card will be broadcast for free on HDNET.
